The Madman in the White House | July 6, 2011

One of the most popular shows on TV now is Madmen.

The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper (Jon Hamm), the biggest ad man and ladies man in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency.

As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels.

Only plays a madman

I have never seen it though I am aware of a different kind of  Madman, who  appears willing to run the country into the ground if he doesn’t get his petulant way.

The series purports to depict authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the reality behind the characters.

Unfortunately our own duly elected madman he stars in the most dangerous reality show ever to threaten the nation’s future.

The immediate crisis at hand is the hard fact that our spenders in government have reached their debt limit for about the 57th time in 50 years.

Under this president the only thing that is shovel-ready is our economy!

Our madman represents Big government, which like the proverbial Leviathan,  has to get bigger or else it will implode.

Ready to implode

Their false social vision of economic equality for all recognizes no limits or boundaries.

Money is their life blood and they constantly need a blood transfusion to sustain their needs.

Unfortunately there is little correlation between their needs of getting re-elected and those of the country.

The Democratic Party and their reluctant leader, Barack the Mad, who seems more comfortable leading from the rear or the 18th green, is intent on playing a big stakes game of chicken.

For the uniformed or those living in Peoria, playing chicken was big in the hot rod days of the 1950s when teens would race from opposing directions on a one lane highway.

A high stakes game

Usually before their deadly impact, one of the players in this suicidal form of brinkmanship would play chicken and veer off the road.

When no one blinked there would be a terrible crash that would result in death and destruction.

Right now the Democrats and Republicans are poised in a deadly stare that is fast becoming a game of chicken with higher stakes.

A popular movie in the seventies, Grease had a vivid depiction of a game of chicken.

What if no one blinks?

This economic showdown is reminiscent of the Cuban Missile Crisis in October of 1962 when the Soviets had stationed offensive missiles in Cuba, much to the chagrin of the Kennedy administration.

For an entire week many of us thought the long-feared Armageddon was at hand.

I was a sophomore at Holy Cross.  I remember writing my last will and testament.

I was only 19 but I was resigned to accepting my nuclear fate.

I wonder if I still have a copy.

My roommate Peter packed a survival kit and was ready to evacuate to the caves of Worcester and ride out the end of the world.

Headed toward Worcester?

Rumors abounded that Worcester was a Type #2 target because of  our armament factories.

Someone heard a freshman had been drafted.

Is what faces us the financial equivalent of those Cold War days with its incessant and very real nuclear threats?

Or am I falling for Democratic scare tactics?

The true bottom line is that the Republicans want to solve the problem by cutting trillions of dollars and not allowing any reactionary tax increases.

Translated by the mainstream media they want to kill your babies.

Republicans want to kill your babies

The Madman in the White House wants to raises billions more in taxes and cut defense spending and maybe turn the lights out in his house  for an extra 30 minutes a day to save energy.

And remember this president would love to see everyone use public transportation to solve our fuel crisis…just like he does.

According to ABC, NBC et al, he wants to save America and he can do that without turning off any lights.

Millions of Americans have fallen for this jaded rhetoric, even many in my own Catholic Church who have no problem in the confiscation of someone else’s largesse, no matter how wasted or mismanaged these ill-gotten goods may be.

Granted the stakes are very high.

Republicans remind us that we will always have enough money to pay the interest on the debt–right now.  So there is no real chance that we will be in default.

If we can’t raise the ceiling, government will simply have to rein in some of its expenditures, just like anyone of us who was $14.5 trillion in debt.

If no one blinks, the Standard and Poor rating agency threatens to give the United States economy its lowest rating, which is a D.

If Americans think our deficit and economy is poor now, just wait and see what will happen in August if the worst case scenario plays out.

The big fat wedding in Greece is over for good.  We could be next!

Are our fat days are over?

Most Americans believe that reason and compromise will prevail. Obviously these are the kind that still watch sitcoms on TV.

There is no room to compromise for Republicans.  We have reached the end of the line fiscally.

Raising taxes at this critical time would bring in even less revenue.

The Madman admitted that in 2008 to Charley Gibson.

He is risking our financial plummet because of equality…not jobs…not financial harmony but on some twisted notion that it is his appointed task to right all the economic in equalities of the world or else let the country implode.

Hitler was faced with the same situation in the final days of the war.

When reminded of the suffering German people..he fulmented that they should all die because they had failed him and they had failed Germany.

Have Americans failed Barack the Mad?  Have they failed America?  Do they deserve to see their economy come tumbling down like a house of cards?

This is the talk of a madmen and for Obama to bring the nation to the brink proves my point that liberalism does make one mentally ill…and in their leaders case …a madman.

Barack the Mad

Voters will have to fathom why Barack Obama seems to be angry and scowling all the time.  Is it just the anger of a frustrated petulant child or the signs of another liberal with delusions of grandeur.

If the Republicans fail to defeat him in November there will be more that one flying over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

  1. your not over the top on this Obama report. The majority of Americans share your evaluation. Obama is an anti American, anti Christian, and is a Racist.
He has directed into 3 Wars, plus many more acts of War, destroyed our reputation in the free world, drove our debt to the largest in history, this is just a few of his acts of war against the American people, plus his support of the Muslim Brotherhood a radical cult to rule the World thru destruction and killing innocent people.
The democratic socialist party’s leader Obama and the democrats are traitors of the US and should not be involved in our government.

  2. I agree–you did not go over the top on this one. He is cold, calculating, evil and anything else you want to call him. He was selected and placed in the position as President to destroy our system so a one world govt can be established and he is successfully accomplishing it. He is like a steam roller and WE CANNOT STOP HIM. He know it and is doing everything he can to bring america down down down. God help American.
